Raja Ampat - Underwater Paradise

Raja Ampat Islands District consists of four major islands, and six hundred small islands located on the western tip of the main island of Papua. This area is one of the beautiful natural phenomena and pristine.

The wealth of flora and fauna such as birds of paradise bald, red paradise, maleo waegeo, possum, various kinds of orchids, palms, and others, provide an attraction for tourists who visit there.

Most of the area of Raja Ampat is still virgin because less threated by human and still original, thats why Raja Ampat very popular among the domestic and International tourist as their destination.

Raja Ampat is an archipelago covered more than 9.8 million acres of lands and sea, located in northwestern of Indonesia's West Papua province. Raja ampat is known as the 3rd best diving area in the world, the seas around Raja Ampat keeps many variety of underwater species, especially coral reef biodiversity and possibly this place hold for the most richest variety of coral reef in the world. Consist of 1,397 species of reef fish, 35 species of endemic reef, 10 times number of hard coral found in entire area of Carribean, 5 species of endagered sea turtles, 13 species of marine mammals and 75% of all known coral species in the world.

Raja Ampat Underwater Biodiversity

Massive coral colonies in this area show that Raja Ampat's reefs are resistant to threats like coral disease and coral bleaching - threats that now are forced most corals from all around the world due to global warming.

Raja Ampat is a paradise for them who love diving and enjoy beautiful sight of the sealife.

How to Get There :
Raja Ampat is very accesible by air plane or boat, the easiest way is to fly to sorong via Jakarta or Singapore, domestic travellers also can reach the area by fly to Sorong via Makassar and Manado.

Entrance Fee :

The entrance fee for foreign visitor is Rp. 500,000 (about $50 USD) /person /calendar year.
For Indonesian citizen visitor the entrance fee is Rp. 250,000.
note : most of the entrance fee is use to improving Raja Ampat Tourism Management, and for the conservation of the are of Raja Ampat.

This location only 65 Km east  from Kendari  and also very accesible by car or boat crossing Moramo bay with amazingly panoramic scenery of Sulawesi's sea.

We can use public transport or privet vehicle, the trip can started from Walter Mongisidi Airport in South Konawe. From the airport we can go directly to Cape Nature Reserve Forest area by public transport. Then we have to walk to reach the waterfall as far as 2 Km.
There's a lot of resting area to unwind and make you more feel comfortable to be there. 

#3. Green Canyon Ciamis Vs Grand Canyon, Arizona

Green Canyon or local people call it Cukang Taneuh is located in Cijulang Village Ciamis, West Java near Pangandaran beach.
In this place we can see beautiful scenery of green tosca color canyon between tower cliffs and forest. We can also enjoy beautiful streams through the cave with beautiful stalactites and stalacmites inside. Some people said that the natural environment and contours of Cijulang is look similar like exotic Grand Canyons in northern Arizona United States. That's why this place also known as Green Canyon, although this place is not as large as Grand Canyon but this place offered more Green Athmosphere than Grand Canyon.

#4. Carstensz Pyramid Vs Mount Everest

Carstensz Pyramid is a paradise for mount climbers, located in Papua (New Guinea), Indonesia. It was the higher peaks of the mountain of Indonesia, approximately 4,885 meters. Similar like Mount Everest in Nepal, Carstensz Pyramid also covered with snows every where,  some top climber like Heinrich Harrer and Reinhold Messner are some of many World's top climber who ever had reach this peaks.
